Israel Adesanya, a fighter accustomed to overcoming significant challenges in the ring, recently faced what might be one of his toughest tests yet – outside the octagon.
“The Last Stylebender” collaborated with David Goggins, a renowned fitness coach and motivational figure known for pushing physical limits, aiming to enhance his conditioning during his training break. In a recent YouTube video, Adesanya candidly shared a moment from this intense session where he became ill and vomited.
This isn`t the first instance of Goggins training a prominent UFC fighter. He notably worked with former interim lightweight champion Tony Ferguson in preparation for his bout against Paddy Pimblett at UFC 296. However, the training seemingly didn`t translate into success in the fight, as Ferguson lost by unanimous decision, marking his seventh straight defeat.
Adesanya currently has no fight scheduled as he looks to rebound from a challenging period, marked by a recent three-fight skid. After reclaiming the UFC middleweight belt from Alex Pereira at UFC 287, he subsequently lost consecutive bouts to Sean Strickland, Dricus du Plessis, and Nassourdine Imavov.
The complete, unedited footage of Adesanya`s training session with Goggins is anticipated to be released on Adesanya’s official YouTube channel in the near future.
