Respected Russian coach Vladimir Kamelzon commented on Daniil Medvedev`s defeat to Jaume Munar in the second round of the Miami Masters, with a score of 2-6, 3-6.
“Medvedev is already 29 years old, not a child, but a seasoned professional with achievements and, most importantly, a unique playing style. He is a unique individual, he has a team that has worked productively with him, as evidenced by his results. It`s hard to say what`s happening with him now, as you need to be inside the process – what`s working and what`s not, where it hurts and what`s wrong. But 29 is not 39, the team will find the reasons and the situation will improve. We will see Medvedev playing at a high level again.”
“I believe that Daniil will return to his former positions. No one plays like him. His playing style is difficult to overcome. But if he is experiencing a downturn, then, in my opinion, it is purely psychological. I was sent videos, I saw how he works, so it`s not about physical fitness,” Kamelzon stated, as quoted by `Championship`.
