Tracy Cortez is set to step into the octagon for the first time in 2025 during International Fight Week.
Sources familiar with the promotion`s plans have confirmed that Cortez will face Viviane Araujo in a flyweight bout at UFC 317, scheduled for June 28 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
Araujo is coming off an upset victory against Karine Silva at UFC 309 in November, held during the promotion`s annual visit to Madison Square Garden in New York City. Before that, “Vivi” lost a unanimous decision to Natalia Silva at UFC Vegas 85 in February 2024. Araujo is currently ranked 12th in the 125-pound division.
Cortez recently experienced her first loss in the UFC, snapping her 11-fight win streak. The 31-year-old headlined her first UFC event against former champion Rose Namajunas at UFC Denver last June, where she also suffered a unanimous decision defeat. Prior to that, Cortez secured a unanimous decision win over Jasmine Jasudavicius at Noche UFC in September 2023.
