Jackson McVey is officially set to make his debut on a UFC pay-per-view card.
Sources familiar with the promotion`s plans have confirmed that McVey will step in with less than two weeks` notice to face Brunno Ferreira at UFC 318. The event is scheduled for July 19th in New Orleans at the Smoothie King Arena.
McVey replaces Ikram Aliskerov, who announced via Instagram that he suffered a broken toe during his training camp. Aliskerov, an undefeated middleweight, recently had a scheduled fight at UFC 317 against Christopher Ewert cancelled when Ewert missed weight. Before this, Aliskerov competed at LFA 210 in June, securing a quick 98-second stoppage victory.
This will be Brunno Ferreira`s seventh appearance in the Octagon as he looks for his fifth UFC victory. In his most recent outing at UFC 313, “The Hulk” defeated Armen Petrosyan with a second-round armbar submission.
The UFC 318 card is headlined by a highly anticipated trilogy bout for the BMF title between Dustin Poirier and Max Holloway, which is expected to be Poirier`s final professional fight.
