UFC 317, set for June 28, is scheduled to feature several pivotal matchups, including a title fight with Ilia Topuria aiming to make history.
In the headline bout at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, former UFC featherweight champion Ilia Topuria will challenge Charles Oliveira for the vacant UFC lightweight title. Topuria seeks to join an elite group of fighters who have captured championships in two different divisions.
The lightweight title became available after former champion Islam Makhachev moved up to pursue the UFC welterweight championship.
Topuria brings an unblemished professional record of 16-0 into this contest, having recently defended his featherweight belt via knockout against Max Holloway. Charles Oliveira, a former lightweight king himself, has won three of his last five appearances in title fights.
The co-main event will see Alexandre Pantoja defending his UFC flyweight championship for the fourth time against Kai Kara-France. Pantoja enters the fight on a strong run with seven consecutive victories, while Kara-France has won three of his most recent five bouts.
