Following the significant buzz around Pokémon Pokopia on Nintendo Switch 2, another life simulator, Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream, is poised to capture a considerable audience. This is particularly true given its availability on the original Nintendo Switch console, a contrast to Pokopia.

As of today, players can download a demo of Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream from the Switch eShop. This ‘Welcome Version’ allows players to create up to three Miis and transfer their saved data to the full game, which is scheduled for release on April 16.

Completing this demo will also reward players with an exclusive hamster costume for their Miis, usable in the full version of the game.

Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream promises to be even more eccentric than its predecessors on Nintendo DS and 3DS. There’s been some controversy surrounding restrictions on image sharing, with speculation that this might be related to the depiction of same-sex Mii relationships. Regardless, players can still bypass these restrictions by copying screenshots to a computer and subsequently sharing them on social media, especially since native sharing functionality has been unavailable on the original family of Switch consoles for some time.

While Tomodachi Life may not command the same widespread recognition as prominent series like Animal Crossing or Pokémon, it maintains a dedicated fanbase. This new Switch installment is anticipated to attract an even larger user base, leveraging the console’s massive audience of over 155.37 million players.

Although there are no immediate plans for a native version of Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream for Nintendo Switch 2, the existing Switch version will naturally operate on both consoles, albeit without specific enhancements tailored for the Switch 2.
