Flyweight action takes center stage at the UFC APEX this summer.
Sources indicate that flyweights Tatsuro Taira and Amir Albazi are slated to compete in the main event of UFC Vegas 108, scheduled for August 2nd at the UFC APEX facility.
Taira, the exciting 25-year-old contender, is returning to the octagon after experiencing the first professional defeat of his mixed martial arts career. His split decision loss to Brandon Royval in October at UFC Vegas 98 was widely regarded as one of the best fights of 2024. Prior to that setback, Taira had built an impressive record with six consecutive victories, including dominant finishes against Carlos Hernandez and Alex Perez.
Albazi, 31, is also seeking to bounce back following his initial loss under the UFC banner. He faced Brandon Moreno in November at UFC Edmonton, where he lost via a dominant decision. This fight marked his return after a significant layoff, having previously secured a split decision win against Kai Kara-France in June 2023.
