World No. 18 Stefanos Tsitsipas expressed dissatisfaction with the condition of the clay court during his second-round match at the Madrid Masters against Jan-Lennard Struff, which he won 3-6, 6-4, 6-3.
“It was impossible to play on the court today,” Tsitsipas said at his press conference. “When I tried to slide, it felt like an ice rink. I`ve never experienced that on clay before. The clay here is different from the usual. I have a lot of experience playing on this surface, and the conditions were very uncomfortable.”
