Sodiq Yusuff is scheduled to compete in the octagon again after more than a year away.
Sources familiar with the promotion`s upcoming schedule have confirmed that Yusuff is slated to fight Mairon Santos. This bout is planned for UFC Vegas 106 on May 17th at the UFC APEX facility in Las Vegas.
The contest will be contested at the lightweight limit, largely because it was booked on short notice. Interestingly, Yusuff has hinted on social media about potentially making a permanent switch to the lightweight division.
Yusuff`s most recent appearance was approximately a year ago at UFC 300, where he suffered a first-round defeat against Diego Lopes, who recently challenged for the featherweight title. Known as “Super,” Yusuff is currently on a two-fight losing streak. This includes a decision loss to Edson Barboza in the headliner of UFC Vegas 81 back in October 2023.
Santos will be competing up a weight division for this fight. He is undefeated in his first two outings in the octagon. The winner of The Ultimate Fighter season 32 is coming off a split decision victory over Francis Marshall at UFC 313 held in March.
The UFC Vegas 106 event is scheduled to be headlined by a welterweight encounter featuring Gilbert Burns against Michael Morales.
