World No. 1 Jannik Sinner provided an update on his physical condition after advancing to the final of the Rome Masters. The Italian experienced discomfort in his leg during his semifinal encounter against Tommy Paul, particularly during the first set.
Sinner ultimately secured the victory over Paul with a scoreline of 1/6, 6/0, 6/3. He is now set to face Spain`s Carlos Alcaraz in the tournament`s final match.
Following the match, the Italian elaborated on the source of his discomfort:
“I developed a small blister back in the third or fourth round. It hinders my ability to move optimally in certain situations. Today, I felt it even more acutely than yesterday. However, it`s not causing significant concern; there`s just a bit of stiffness, which is manageable. I do need to address this issue.
“Nevertheless, there are no excuses. The adrenaline in the final will give me the necessary energy. I`m not worried about Sunday`s match,” he stated.
