Former world number one Justine Henin offered her perspective on the performance of world number two, Poland`s Iga Swiatek, on clay courts this current season. Clay is widely considered to be Swiatek`s most favorable surface.
`Up until this point, she has been performing adequately. However, as the clay season, which she adores, begins, and she approaches a tournament where she has claimed victory four times (referencing Roland Garros), it is reasonable to anticipate her regaining her top form. This resurgence was expected to occur by now. Yet, she continues to play below her usual high standard,` commented Henin.
She further added, `In her match against Collins in Rome, we saw Iga facing a very challenging situation; she appeared to be in considerable emotional distress. Following the match, Iga attended the press conference with visibly red eyes. One could sense the depth of pain she was experiencing.`
