Preview Seth Rollins Wants to Fight CM Punk in the UFC

Seth Rollins, a prominent WWE wrestler, has expressed his willingness to fight CM Punk in the UFC. Despite their upcoming triple threat match at WrestleMania 41, Rollins` animosity towards Punk is genuine and extends beyond professional wrestling.

Rollins stated he would be willing to train in MMA to settle his differences with Punk in a real fight. He suggested the idea of a UFC match after referencing Punk`s previous, albeit unsuccessful, venture into MMA.

CM Punk`s UFC record stands at 0-1 with one no contest. Although he lost both of his fights, his defeat against Mike Jackson was overturned due to Jackson testing positive for marijuana.

In a podcast interview, Rollins confidently declared his readiness to fight Punk in the UFC. He acknowledged that he wouldn`t instigate a backstage brawl, but if UFC President Dana White were interested in a non-UFC fighter versus non-UFC fighter bout featuring them, Rollins would accept the challenge.

Rollins admitted that this might be his only foray into MMA, implying he wouldn`t take on other UFC fighters in his weight class. However, he directly appealed to Dana White, saying a Rollins vs. Punk fight would be profitable and urging him to “book it.”

While CM Punk has some background in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Rollins has no formal martial arts training, having focused on wrestling since his teenage years. This lack of MMA experience doesn`t deter Rollins from wanting to fight Punk.

Rollins has been openly critical of Punk, especially since Punk`s controversial return to WWE in 2023. Rollins has described Punk`s presence as detrimental, accusing him of being self-serving and creating division within the wrestling industry.

Despite the unlikelihood of Dana White booking the fight given Punk`s previous UFC performances, Rollins believes it would generate significant hype and financial success, especially with both WWE and UFC now under the same ownership (TKO Group Holdings).

Rollins concluded by saying he would need a few months to prepare for an MMA fight but feels confident in his ability to compete with CM Punk in the Octagon, given the shared ownership of UFC and WWE.
