Tonali’s transfer to Newcastle from AC Milan in summer 2023 was valued at over €70 million.

Last week, the Italian midfielder contributed a goal and an assist in the Azzurri’s 2-0 victory against Northern Ireland in the World Cup play-off semifinal. However, Italy subsequently missed out on World Cup qualification for the third consecutive time, suffering a penalty shootout defeat to Bosnia and Herzegovina in the final.
