Ronaldo Rodriguez experienced a very disappointing UFC event in Mexico City.
“Lazy Boy” not only suffered a clear unanimous decision defeat to Kevin Borjas, who was considered the underdog, but he also failed to make weight by one pound before the fight and reportedly needed hospital treatment afterwards.
Rodriguez posted images and a video on Instagram showing his health issues.
Despite his first UFC defeat, Rodriguez, alongside his wife Nina, seems to be in good spirits. The 25-year-old, who has a large Instagram following of over two million, previously won against Ode Osbourne and Denys Bondar in the UFC, but his seven-fight winning streak ended with the loss to Borjas.
For weighing in at 127 pounds on Friday, which is one pound above the flyweight limit for non-title fights, Rodriguez was penalized 20% of his fight earnings.
Rodriguez previously stated that he is not offering any excuses for his performance.
