Anastasia Zakharova (Russia, 8) defeated Daniela Piani (Great Britain, WC) 7-5, 6-4.
Kamilla Rakhimova (Russia, 6) was defeated by Maddison Inglis (Australia) 5-7, 3-6.
Zakharova will compete for a spot in the main draw against the winner of the match between Alicia Parks and Carol Zhao.
