PGA Tour 2K25 has launched its second season, introducing new content and features from developer HB Studios and publisher 2K Games, aimed at enhancing the experience for virtual golf enthusiasts.
The highlight of the new season is the Challenges mode, which combines detailed golf situations with elements reminiscent of role-playing games. Players navigate a map, deciding their progression path to take on various challenges and earn rewards. While maintaining realistic golf mechanics, some missions incorporate arcade-style elements for variety.
Within these scenarios, players must meet specific requirements. Unique modifiers will either make the tasks harder or easier. For instance, golfers might need to guide their shots through a sequence of airborne rings.
Certain challenges draw inspiration from memorable moments in golf history, asking players to replicate famous shots. HB Studios plans to regularly update and add to this mode in future seasons. A new course specifically designed for this mode, in collaboration with Charles Schwab, is also slated for release soon.
Additionally, Season 2 introduces the renowned Old Course at St. Andrews to PGA Tour 2K25. Players can also earn a variety of new unlockable items, including upgrades, enhancements, and equipment. A new shot option, the Long Flop, is available; it offers more power than a standard Flop Shot but shares its characteristics of a high arc, significant spin, and limited roll, making it useful for recovering from slightly misjudged approaches.
