Valencia Basket has made a surprising impact this season since its return to Europe’s top basketball competition. Following their impressive 85-84 victory over Olympiakos this Tuesday, which elevated them to fourth place in the standings, the club officially announced the contract extension of their head coach, Pedro Martinez, until 2028.
This news is particularly well-received by French player Neal Sako, who previously spoke highly of his coach, stating:
“He is a coach with a very modern game philosophy. We are heavily focused on transition play and three-point shooting. We strive to play very fast. He possesses extensive experience and has certainly evolved his vision of what he demands from his teams, considering he was already coaching twenty years ago, at a time when nobody played the way we do now.”
