Preview Patchy Mix Signs with UFC, Set for Debut Against Mario Bautista at UFC 316

Patchy Mix has officially joined the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).

Widely regarded as the premier bantamweight competitor outside the UFC, the former Bellator champion recently secured his release from the PFL and has now found his new fighting home with the global leader in mixed martial arts.

His Octagon debut is scheduled to happen soon. Mix is set to clash with Mario Bautista at the upcoming UFC 316 event.

News of his signing and debut opponent was announced during a recent UFC broadcast.

Mix arrives in the UFC with an impressive professional record of 20 wins and just 1 loss, including 15 finishes. During his successful run in Bellator, Mix defeated notable fighters such as Kyoji Horiguchi, Magomed Magomedov, Sergio Pettis, and Raufeon Stots.

He is currently riding a strong seven-fight winning streak, a run that included capturing the Bellator bantamweight title and successfully defending it in his most recent outing.

Mix had previously expressed dissatisfaction regarding a lack of activity while under the PFL contract, which ultimately led him to request his release. The PFL granted his request, issuing a statement confirming they would not extend his contract and that he was free to sign with another organization.

It evidently did not take long for Mix to finalize his deal with the UFC. He immediately steps into a significant matchup against Mario Bautista, stepping in after Bautista`s originally scheduled opponent, Marlon “Chito” Vera, was forced off the card due to injury.

Bautista is also on an impressive seven-fight win streak, which includes a notable split decision victory over former champion Jose Aldo. He will look to provide a tough welcome for Mix in his first UFC appearance at UFC 316.

The UFC 316 event is expected to feature multiple high-profile bouts, potentially including title fights such as a bantamweight clash between champion Merab Dvalishvili and Sean O’Malley, and Julianna Pena competing for bantamweight gold against two-time Olympic judo champion Kayla Harrison.
