Preview Paolini Clinches Historic Double in Rome

World No. 5 Jasmine Paolini has made history at the WTA 1000 tournament in Rome, becoming the first Italian woman since Raffaella Reggi in 1985 to clinch titles in both the singles and doubles events.

In the singles final on the clay courts of Rome, Paolini defeated American star Coco Gauff in straight sets, 6/4, 6/2. She then partnered with fellow Italian Sara Errani to triumph in the doubles final, overcoming the challenge of Veronika Kudermetova and Elise Mertens with a 6/4, 7/5 victory.

This remarkable achievement also places Jasmine Paolini as the sixth player in the Open Era to win both the singles and doubles titles at the prestigious Rome tournament in the same year. Notably, this marks the first time this feat has been accomplished in the 21st century.
