After holding serve at home in Florida in Games 3 and 4, the reigning Stanley Cup champions traveled to Toronto and decisively defeated the Maple Leafs with six unanswered goals, securing a dominant 6-1 victory. This significant win sets the stage for a potential series-clinching game back in South Florida on Friday night.
The six-goal lead was part of an impressive streak of nine consecutive goals scored by the Panthers, which began with the overtime winner in Game 3 last Friday. Florida also secured a 2-0 shutout victory in Game 4. In the recent Wednesday game, goalie Sergei Bobrovsky delivered a stellar performance, stopping the first 31 shots faced and coming just 66 seconds short of achieving back-to-back shutouts. Jesper Boqvist and A.J. Greer both scored their first career playoff goals in the game, while defensemen Aaron Ekblad, Dmitry Kulikov, and Niko Mikkola also contributed with goals.
