Nate Diaz is no longer facing any potential legal repercussions after a judge dismissed a misdemeanor battery charge against the fighter. The charge stemmed from an alleged incident that occurred outside a Las Vegas nightclub in August 2024.
Representatives for Diaz confirmed to news outlets that the case was dismissed. Online court records also corroborate that the charges have been dropped.
The entire situation revolved around an alleged altercation that took place outside the Omnia nightclub, located in Caesar`s Palace in Las Vegas.
Reports indicate that Diaz and his associates were causing a hold-up in the line to enter the club. A security guard from Omnia approached Diaz to investigate the situation. The situation escalated into a physical confrontation when Diaz allegedly pushed the security guard. The security guard reportedly pushed back, and then Diaz allegedly struck the security guard in the face with an open hand.
A video purportedly showing the altercation surfaced in September. The video appears to show Diaz pushing a person in the face, causing their glasses to fall off, before raising his hands as others intervened to calm the situation.
By the time law enforcement arrived at the scene, Diaz had already left the premises.
Now, the former UFC fighter is officially clear of any potential penalties arising from this incident, following the judge`s dismissal of the charges.
Diaz, who is 39 years old, last competed in July 2024, securing a victory by decision over Jorge Masvidal in a boxing match in California. More recently, Diaz, a native of Stockton, California, expressed interest in a possible return to the UFC. However, he also stated that he is not interested in the current roster of fighters, remarking that “there’s nobody doing anything significant in the UFC.”
