World No. 44 Matteo Arnaldi has expressed his support for the use of the Hawk-Eye Live electronic line-calling system on clay courts.
“I like it,” Arnaldi stated during a press conference. “It`s clearly not perfect, but in my matches, I haven`t noticed any significant errors. At tournaments like these, there isn`t a lot of space on the secondary courts. On the main court, it`s fine – you can play with or without line judges, it doesn`t really matter. But on the smaller courts, it`s much harder to play with line judges. In my first-round match, it was significantly more comfortable without them – I didn`t have to worry about colliding with someone.”
“I like this system, and I like that it`s consistent for everyone,” Arnaldi added.
Belinda Bencic on Hawk-Eye Live: “People turn off their brains and feelings when they make everything electronic. We completely stop thinking.”
