Mateusz Gamrot`s first bout of 2025 has officially been announced.
UFC confirmed on Thursday that Gamrot (24-3, 1 NC) is slated to compete against Ludovit Klein (23-4-1) in a notable lightweight contenders` fight taking place at UFC Vegas 107 on May 31st.
This matchup is particularly significant for Gamrot, who is currently tied with Rafael Fiziev at No. 10 in the MMA Fighting Global Rankings. Gamrot had hinted at an upcoming fight for several months, with speculation linking him to various prominent names in the division. The 34-year-old is coming off a close split decision loss to Dan Hooker at UFC 305 in August, which brought an end to his three-fight winning streak. A former champion in two weight classes in the KSW promotion, Gamrot holds a UFC record of 7-3 since his debut in 2020.
For the 30-year-old Klein, this represents a considerable opportunity to climb the rankings should he secure a victory over Gamrot. After beginning his UFC journey with a 1-2 record, Klein moved up from featherweight to lightweight and has since compiled a 6-0-1 record, winning his last four appearances. His most recent performance was a unanimous decision win over Roosevelt Roberts last September.
The main event for UFC Vegas 107 is expected to be a women`s flyweight contest between top contenders Erin Blanchfield and Maycee Barber.
