Marine Johannès, 31, capitalized on Sabrina Ionescu’s absence to deliver a standout performance. She demonstrated impressive shooting accuracy, hitting 53.3% of her field goals (8/15) and 46.2% from beyond the arc (6/13). Johannès also matched her personal best with six successful three-pointers and set a franchise record with 11 three-pointers made across her first two games of the season. This achievement makes her only the second player in WNBA history to commence a season with two consecutive games of five or more three-pointers.

The French player also recorded two steals, joining Sugar Rodgers as the only players in franchise history to begin a season with at least 17 points and two steals in two consecutive games.

“She’s a truly exceptional player,” stated Coach Chris DeMarco. “She needs to have confidence in herself, and we’ll accept her mistakes. It’s an integral part of her talent and her complete game. I particularly appreciate her current defensive commitment. And I think it shows on offense: if you make the right choices on defense and give your all on offense, luck smiles upon you and the entire team.”

Pauline Astier also made a significant contribution. The international point guard scored 18 points on 6/10 shooting, adding five rebounds, seven assists, and two steals.
