Russian world number 24, Karen Khachanov, has commented on the return of Italian ATP ranking leader, Jannik Sinner, following a three-month suspension for violating anti-doping rules.

Khachanov shared his thoughts on Sinner`s comeback, stating, “It`s not that I`m indifferent, but he had a three-month ban. He trained, he prepared. Now all the media news is revolving around him. Let`s see what shape he is in, how ready he is.”

He added that being away from competition for three months is not easy, but expressed confidence that Sinner trained and worked extensively on both his physical condition and his tennis during that period. “Therefore, everyone is probably interested to see what shape he will be in and what form he will gain for `Roland Garros` in principle,” Khachanov concluded.

It`s recalled that last year, Sinner tested positive for doping twice. A test conducted during the Indian Wells Masters on March 10, 2024, detected Clostebol in the Italian`s system – an anabolic steroid prohibited in sports. A second test, performed during an out-of-competition period on March 18, was also positive.
