Juventus are reportedly targeting Tottenham Hotspur defender Djed Spence for a potential summer transfer, as the Turin giants prioritize strengthening their full-back options. The club is actively compiling a list of prospective recruits for the upcoming transfer window.
Among the names being considered, Djed Spence has emerged as a significant candidate. The English right-back has a prior connection with Juventus sporting director Marco Ottolini, stemming from their shared time at Genoa. Ottolini was instrumental in bringing Spence to Genoa on a loan deal with an option to buy, coinciding with Radu Dragusin’s move to Tottenham in January 2024. During his stint in Serie A, Spence featured in 16 matches in the latter half of the 2023-24 season.
While no formal discussions have commenced between Juventus and Tottenham, initial reports suggest that securing Spence’s services would command a transfer fee in the vicinity of €30 million. This valuation aligns with figures previously linked to other defensive targets, such as Brentford’s Michael Kayode. Other players like Roma’s Zeki Celik, potentially available on a free transfer, have also been mentioned as possible reinforcements.
Such a substantial fee for a full-back would represent a considerable investment for Juventus. It is understood that the Bianconeri might need to offload some of their current players to finance a deal of this magnitude. Pierre Kalulu is one player reportedly being considered for a potential summer departure to facilitate new acquisitions.
