After three years, former UFC champion Cain Velasquez has been sentenced for his 2022 arrest.

On Monday, Velasquez received a five-year prison sentence, with credit for time already served. This follows his no-contest plea to charges related to a February 2022 incident. The incident involved Velasquez pursuing Harry Goularte, accused of molesting Velasquez`s son, in a high-speed chase. Velasquez fired shots at the car, injuring Goularte`s stepfather, Paul Bender.

Judge Arthur Bocanegra delivered the sentence, acknowledging Velasquez`s 1,283 days already served, including jail time and house arrest. This means Velasquez, 42 years old, is expected to spend less than two more years in prison.

The sentencing has sparked reactions from fighters and MMA fans.
