Preview Jon Jones Suggests His Fighting Career Isn’t Over Yet

Jon Jones, the current UFC heavyweight champion, continues to build upon his remarkable list of career achievements, recently hinting that he`s not finished competing.

On Friday, Jones showcased an impressive collection of fight posters from his time in the promotion on Instagram. However, displaying the past seemed to prompt anticipation for the future.

“As you can see… still haven’t framed or hung the Stipe fight yet,” Jones wrote on Instagram. He added, “Been moving a million miles an hour lately. But there’s one last perfect spot left on my wall of victory.”

Reflecting on what the posters represent, he continued:

“And looking at this wall—it really hits me. This isn`t just artwork. It`s legacy. Every poster tells a story. Different chapters. Different homes. Different battles. Wins that meant the world at the time. Fights that made history.”

Jones also spoke about his evolution beyond the Octagon:

“I’ve said it before, my career hasn’t been perfect, but it’s been undeniably legendary. Epic. Special… What I’m most proud of? I’ve evolved. I’m so much more than just a fighter. I’m a man growing stronger in my faith, a family man, a loyal brother to my team, a businessman, a leader, a man for my community. And I know—without a doubt—my mother would be proud of the man I’ve become.”

He concluded his post with a strong indication that more is yet to come:

“The wall’s almost filled… but trust me, the story’s still being written. The best is yet to come.”

This final message clearly suggests Jones intends to fight again, amidst ongoing speculation regarding the timing and opponent for his return.

Potential Opponent and Timing

The most widely expected next fight for Jones is a title unification bout against interim heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall. However, Aspinall has expressed frustration over the lack of confirmed details or a date for this highly anticipated matchup.

Recent rumors have surfaced suggesting Aspinall might instead face Ciryl Gane, especially as the UFC searches for a headlining fight for UFC 317, potentially during International Fight Week in 2025.

Despite the rumors, the promotion has not confirmed any alternative plans. UFC CEO Dana White recently reiterated that the focus remains on booking Jon Jones versus Tom Aspinall sometime in 2025.

While Jones`s latest update confirms his intention to step back into the cage, the specific opponent and date remain uncertain.
