Preview Jon Jones Names His Mount Rushmore of MMA Legends

Jon Jones is widely regarded as one of the greatest fighters of all time. But who else ranks among the absolute elite in the history of mixed martial arts?

Jones recently shared his perspective on this popular debate, offering his personal “Mount Rushmore” of MMA – a list of the four best competitors the sport has ever seen. His selections, which predictably include himself, aren`t particularly shocking.

According to Jones, his top four, in no specific order, are Demetrious Johnson, Anderson Silva, Georges St-Pierre, and himself. He stated, “We’ve all done really great things in this sport.”

Jones` own credentials are undeniable, marked by the longest reign as light heavyweight champion in UFC history and a recent title victory in the heavyweight division.

His career record shows only one defeat, a disqualification loss in a fight he was otherwise dominating. He has never been legitimately beaten in competition.

Georges St-Pierre holds the record for the longest welterweight title reign in UFC history, successfully defending his belt nine consecutive times before capturing the middleweight title by submitting a UFC Hall of Famer.

While Jones and St-Pierre boast impressive title win counts, Demetrious Johnson holds the UFC record for most consecutive title defenses with 11, surpassing Anderson Silva`s previous mark of 10.

Regarding Anderson Silva, Jones has openly called him his “idol” and admits he still feels nervous interacting with the legendary Brazilian former champion.

Given the incredible achievements of these four athletes, it`s difficult to strongly dispute Jones` choices when narrowing down the absolute best in MMA history.
