Preview Joffrey Lauvergne: “I’ve always said I wanted to finish my career at Partizan”

Joffrey Lauvergne, 34, who proudly wore the Partizan jersey from 2012 to 2014 before embarking on an NBA career, is now contemplating a heartfelt return to the Serbian club.

“I have always maintained that my goal is to conclude my professional career with Partizan. It’s my ultimate objective. We shall see if this becomes a possibility in the future, but it is unequivocally what I desire,” the former French international revealed to Serbian media.

He added that the conditions surrounding his return are secondary.

“It doesn’t matter to me. I simply want to end my career at Partizan. I heard that the club president had floated the idea of my comeback. We’ll have to wait and see,” he further elaborated, speaking in Serbian.

Lauvergne’s remarks refer to a statement made by Partizan President Ostoja Mijailovic, who publicly expressed his wish for the veteran big man to rejoin his club, potentially as early as this season and in seasons to follow. It’s also been reported that Lauvergne recently had to depart Kuwait due to escalating regional instability.
