Joe Rogan is set to return to his regular position on the broadcast team for the upcoming UFC 316 event, scheduled for Saturday at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J.
The veteran podcaster and longtime color commentator was absent from UFC 315, which took place in Canada, but will rejoin play-by-play announcer Jon Anik and UFC Hall of Famer Daniel Cormier to call the fights.
UFC officials confirmed these broadcast plans earlier on Monday.
Broadcast Team Details
Alongside the established three-person commentary booth calling the primary fights on Saturday, the broader broadcast team will feature boxing icon Teddy Atlas as a lead analyst. He will be joined by recently retired UFC veteran Anthony Smith and Chael Sonnen, who will also provide analysis.
Karyn Bryant is handling the reporting duties from inside the arena, while Din Thomas will serve as the coach during the broadcast, offering insights and analysis during the fights.
UFC 316 Headliners
UFC 316 is headlined by a pair of significant bantamweight championship bouts. In the main event, Merab Dvalishvili will make his second title defense, facing Sean O’Malley, the fighter from whom he originally captured the belt last September. This fight marks O`Malley’s first Octagon appearance since that loss to Dvalishvili.
In the co-main event, Julianna Pena is set for her inaugural defense of the women’s bantamweight championship against two-time Olympic judo gold medalist Kayla Harrison. Harrison enters the fight with an undefeated 2-0 record in the UFC, highlighted by a dominant performance against former champion Holly Holm at UFC 300.
