Fonseca replied that he is aware of his role as an inspiration for children, recalling how he himself used to ask for autographs from famous tennis players just two years ago. Now, children ask him for autographs from him.

Among his idols, Fonseca named Roger Federer, whom he admired since childhood, and Gustavo Kuerten, a Brazilian tennis player whom he valued not only for his game but also for his charisma, love for Brazil, and interview skills.
