Preview Ian Machado Garry Mocks Jack Della Maddalena’s Appearance Amidst Rivalry

The rivalry between Ian Machado Garry and Jack Della Maddalena escalated significantly following an uncomfortable interaction they had during UFC 315 fight week, effectively opening the floodgates to their ongoing feud.

Garry, known as “The Future,” recently recounted to Ariel Helwani that Della Maddalena allegedly made a derogatory comment about Garry`s son in the days leading up to the May 10th pay-per-view event in Montreal. That event culminated in Della Maddalena securing the UFC welterweight title by defeating Belal Muhammad. According to Garry, he had intended a playful gesture by having his son offer Della Maddalena candy, humorously suggesting the Australian should miss weight and lose the fight (relevant as Garry was the official backup for the main event).

Della Maddalena reportedly responded by implying Garry`s son wasn`t biologically his, a comment Garry deemed a wildly disproportionate reaction. The animosity continued to build on Wednesday when Garry took a jab at Della Maddalena`s physical appearance, comparing him to the character Sloth from the movie *The Goonies*.

In a video shared by Garry, he remarked from a comic book shop in England, “I am shocked. I`ve never seen the UFC release an action figure as fast as they have for Jack Della Maddalena. I am so proud of you. Look at that. World champ and you`ve got your f***ing action figure. Good on you, pal, very proud of you. Good job.”

A potential bout between Della Maddalena and Garry would likely generate considerable interest, especially given Garry`s knack for promoting fights. However, Della Maddalena`s first defense of his championship has already been slated against the pound-for-pound king, Islam Makhachev. This fight is expected to happen later this year, after Makhachev vacated his lightweight title; the exact date is still to be determined.

As for their records, Della Maddalena boasts an 8-0 run in the UFC and is currently on an impressive 18-fight winning streak overall, dating back to 2016. Garry holds a 9-1 record in the UFC and recently bounced back from his only career octagon loss with a victory over Carlos Prates.
