At the conclusion of the first day of AnimeJapan 2026, producer Pony Canyon unveiled a new trailer for the anime adaptation of Hekiru Hikawa’s manga, Hanaori-san Still Wants to Fight in the Next Life (Hanaori-san wa Tensei Shite mo Kenka ga Shitai). Alongside this preview, a promotional image was released, and new voice cast members joining the series were announced.

When Does the Hanaori-san Still Wants to Fight in the Next Life Anime Premiere?

The premiere of the Hanaori-san Still Wants to Fight in the Next Life anime is scheduled for an unspecified day in July 2026. During the AnimeJapan 2026 panel, it was confirmed that Jun Fukuyama will voice Ryusei Narukami and Akira Sekine will play Meteor Hanaori in the leading roles. Additionally, Rie Takahashi was announced as Ayahime Takanashi, Yōko Hikasa as Sakura Rokudo, and Sora Tokui as Mana Kuraishi.

Who is on the Production Team for the Project?

Studio LIDEN FILMS is responsible for the production of the series, with Hideyo Yamamoto directing. The team is further composed of Yukie Sugawara for series composition, Yousuke Okuda handling character design, and Naoka Ayata as art director. Visual and sound management includes Mineyo Ōnishi for color design, Kimihiro Nakano as photography director, and Ryōsuke Naya as sound director, while the musical composition is a collaboration between Yukari Hashimoto and R・O・N.

The story introduces Ryusei Narukami, a young man with a sedentary lifestyle who secretly possesses a past as a demon king from an alternate world. The plot ignites when he discovers that the heroine who defeated him has also reincarnated on Earth, now as a high school student. The narrative explores the complex coexistence and persistent conflict between these two adversaries in a modern, everyday setting. The original manga by Hekiru Hikawa has been serialized in Kodansha’s Morning two magazine since 2021.
