During the recent Xbox Partner Preview presentation, not only were new games showcased, but the release dates for various existing titles on different platforms were also unveiled. Among these highly anticipated announcements was Hades 2, with its launch date finally revealed for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles.
Supergiant Games, the developer, announced that the acclaimed indie title will arrive on Sony and Microsoft consoles on Tuesday, April 14, 2026. Furthermore, it will be available as part of the Game Pass subscription service.
Hades 2 has been accessible on PC and Nintendo Switch since 2025.
In Hades 2, players take on the role of Melinoë, Zagreus’s sister, as she wages war against the Titan Cronos to uncover the fate of her family, from whom she was separated years prior. Like its predecessor, this is a roguelike game where each playthrough starts from scratch, but with some persistent advantages and upgrades earned along the way.
The game was one of the most celebrated titles of 2025. It received nominations in six categories at The Game Awards, winning the award for Best Action Game. It also secured wins in various categories at the DICE Awards and the New York Game Awards.
For those who haven’t had the chance to play it on PC or Switch, or have been eagerly awaiting its release on their preferred console, now is your opportunity. However, it’s worth noting that the announced version appears to be digital-only, with no current information regarding a potential physical edition for these platforms.
