Widely regarded as the greatest welterweight fighter of all time, former longtime UFC champion Georges St-Pierre indicated he would be open to participating in the UFC 315 main event in a minor capacity if requested.

During the UFC 315 Fan Q&A session held on Friday in Montreal, Canada, leading up to Saturday`s pay-per-view event, St-Pierre was part of a panel that included fellow former Canadian UFC fighters Rory MacDonald, Valerie Letourneau, Patrick Cote, and David Loiseau. He was specifically asked if he would be willing to wrap the 170-pound title belt around the waist of the winner between Belal Muhammad and Jack Della Maddalena.

Responding to the question, St-Pierre stated, “Of course, if they want me to do it, I’ll do it.” However, he was clear about his primary focus for the event. “But on Saturday, I’ll work as a cornerman, and my priority is to be there for Aiemann Zahabi, and he has an incredible task ahead fighting Jose Aldo.”

He added, expressing his willingness should circumstances allow, “If everything goes according to plan and we get the W and they want me to do it, why not? It would be an honor.”

St-Pierre is a two-time UFC welterweight champion, holding a divisional record with 10 consecutive title defenses. He vacated the championship following his victory over Johny Hendricks at UFC 167 in November 2013.

After a four-year hiatus from the sport, the popular Canadian fighter returned, moving up to the middleweight division. He successfully became a two-division champion by securing a submission win over Michael Bisping at UFC 217 in November 2017.
