Fourth-ranked American Coco Gauff shared her expectations ahead of the WTA 1000 semifinal match in Madrid. She is set to play against the world No. 2, Poland`s Iga Swiatek.
Gauff noted Swiatek`s strength on clay but stressed that she would approach this match differently than recent hard-court encounters. “Obviously, Iga is really strong on clay, especially on this surface. I hope that I can play some great tennis, like I did in the quarterfinals,” the American said.
She added, “I think I have a good chance of winning. I feel like I`m getting better with each match and I`m looking forward to the opportunity to play one of the best players in the world.”
