Epic Games has announced a forthcoming collaboration for Fortnite with the artist EsDeeKid through a short video released on social media. Many might wonder who EsDeeKid is, and for clarity, it’s important to state that, contrary to some online rumors, this artist is definitively NOT Timothée Chalamet.
EsDeeKid is a British rapper known for blending rap with elements from genres such as trap, ambient, and new age, often categorized as ‘cloud rap’ within musical circles. He began to gain significant popularity in 2023. This exciting crossover with Fortnite is scheduled to be available in the in-game store starting Friday, May 15, 2026.
A brief preview of the collaboration can be seen below. Paying close attention to the teaser may offer a glimpse of the musician’s in-game outfit.
Given EsDeeKid’s tendency to conceal his identity, we anticipate a skin featuring a balaclava-covered face and skeletal iconography. Additionally, we can expect cosmetic items that reflect his distinctive aesthetic, possibly including elements inspired by improvisation and his music. For those unfamiliar with his work, some of his tracks are available for listening.
The mention of Timothée Chalamet stems from rumors circulating a few months ago that falsely identified him as the rapper. This unfounded theory gained considerable traction online, and despite being debunked, some continue to believe it. Furthermore, if the rumors were true, Timothée Chalamet already possesses a Fortnite skin, rendering a new collaboration for him unnecessary. It’s important to note that this is a standard collaboration and is not part of Fortnite Festival.
Fortnite is a free-to-play game with optional in-game purchases, available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, mobile devices (iOS and Android), and PC via the Epic Games Store.
