Despite past NBA games in London sometimes receiving a lukewarm fan response, the English capital continues to be a top-tier destination for American basketball executives exploring European expansion. Marshall Glickman, a prominent figure in international basketball, is reportedly among the investors showing interest in a London-based franchise.
Glickman brings a wealth of experience to the table, having previously served as CEO of the Euroleague and held an executive position with the NBA’s Portland Trail Blazers. The competition for one of the twelve permanent European NBA franchises is intensifying as the March 31st deadline for financial proposals approaches. Notably, RedBird Capital, known for its ownership of Italian football giant AC Milan, is also reportedly vying for the opportunity to secure the English franchise.
