She`s come to understand that for her, sometimes, less can be more. Raducanu explained that she works incredibly hard and gives 100%, but this can sometimes lead to overtraining or burnout. She emphasizes the importance of giving maximum effort for specific durations on the court, maintaining intense focus, and then being able to effectively switch off and prioritize rest and recovery.
While acknowledging the common belief – which she shares – that practice is vital for players, she stresses that there`s a time and place for everything. Taking necessary breaks, recovering physically, and allowing for mental recuperation is crucial at certain points, given the demanding nature and length of the tennis season.
