Preview Drew Dober Comments on Knockout Defeat Against Manuel Torres at UFC Mexico City

Drew Dober marked his 25th UFC fight on Saturday, but the event ended in disappointment.

The experienced lightweight was knocked out by Manuel Torres in under two minutes during their UFC Mexico City fight. Torres landed a strong right hand, followed by hammer fists. Referee Mike Beltran`s late stoppage allowed Dober to take several unnecessary hits to the head after he was already clearly unable to defend himself.

On Sunday, Dober shared his thoughts on the loss online.

“Well, that was bad,” Dober wrote. “Manuel Torres landed a perfectly timed 1-2 punch. Ultimately, I stepped right into a powerful punch from a fighter with long reach.”

Dober didn`t mention the controversial ending where he quickly stood up after the knockout, seemingly unaware the fight had been stopped.

This is Dober’s third knockout loss in the UFC, and his second consecutive knockout defeat after a TKO loss to Jean Silva in July. The 36-year-old fighter has now lost his last three fights and four out of his last five.

Known for earning UFC bonuses, with eight in his career, this time the $50,000 bonus went to Torres for his knockout victory, his fourth bonus in four wins.
