Novak Djokovic, a 24-time Grand Slam champion and world number one, defeated Grigor Dimitrov, ranked 15th globally, in the Miami Open semi-finals. This victory propels Djokovic into his 60th Masters final, extending his own record. The Serbian star now shares the record for most Miami Masters finals with Andre Agassi, both having reached the final eight times.
At 37 years and 10 months old, Djokovic becomes the oldest player to ever reach a Masters final. He surpasses Roger Federer`s previous record set in 2019, when Federer reached the Indian Wells final at 37 years and 7 months (losing to Dominic Thiem) and the Miami final (defeating John Isner).
Djokovic`s appearance in this final marks his 20th consecutive season (2006-2025) reaching an ATP-level final, matching Roger Federer`s record of 20 consecutive seasons (2000-2019).
This will be Djokovic`s 142nd final overall at the ATP level. He is aiming for his 100th career title and will compete against Taylor Fritz or Jakub Mensik in the final.
