Russian tennis player Diana Shnaider, currently ranked world number 11, has achieved a unique milestone. She is the first player in the history of WTA 1000 tournaments (since the Tier format was introduced in 1990) to record two consecutive victories with a dominant 6-0, 6-0 scoreline.
On May 8, in the second round of the Rome WTA 1000 event, she defeated American opponent Caroline Dolehide with this score. The previous victory came on April 26 against Latvia`s Anastasia Sevastova in the third round of a prestigious clay court WTA 1000 tournament.
In the upcoming third round in Rome, Shnaider is set to face Romanian player Jaqueline Cristian, ranked world number 74. Cristian advanced by defeating Kazakhstan`s Yulia Putintseva with a score of 7-6(2), 7-5.
