Following a significant reshuffle within the coaching staff, Vassilis Spanoulis’ assistants have also departed AS Monaco. The club has announced that coaching responsibilities will now be overseen by Georgian Manuchar Markoishvili and Ukrainian Sergii Gladyr. Meanwhile, Lithuanian Sigitas Kavaliauskas will retain his established role as the team’s physical trainer.
Manuchar Markoishvili, 39, brings a wealth of experience to his new position. He is a former high-level professional player, having notably played for prominent European clubs such as Milan and CSKA Moscow. In addition to his new role, he also serves as an assistant coach for the Georgian national team.
These personnel changes come at a particularly challenging time for AS Monaco, as the club is currently navigating a profound period of crisis. The team is preparing to host Olympiakos this Thursday, following a difficult run that has seen them suffer seven defeats in their last eight Euroleague matches.
