Preview Champions League Quarterfinal: Bayern Munich Hosts Inter

Bayern Munich is set to play against Inter Milan at home in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals on Tuesday. Despite their strong performance in the Bundesliga, Bayern manager Vincent Kompany is dealing with several player injuries. Jamal Musiala is the latest player to be ruled out due to a muscle injury sustained in the Augsburg match. He will miss both legs of the quarterfinal.

Musiala joins other key Bayern players on the injury list, including Alphonso Davies, Dayot Upamecano, and Manuel Neuer.

When questioned about the team`s condition, coach Vincent Kompany acknowledged the difficult situation. “We are facing challenges with injuries, but this is the Champions League, and we must focus forward. The players available are ready to give their all. I trust in those who will play; they are prepared and committed. We will not make excuses or change our objectives. The team on the field will be fully prepared and have my complete confidence.”

Bayern Munich vs. Inter Starting Lineups

Bayern Munich XI: Jonas Urbig; Konrad Laimer, Kim Min-Jae, Eric Dier, Josip Stanišić; Joshua Kimmich, Leon Goretzka; Michael Olise, Raphaël Guerreiro, Leroy Sane; Harry Kane.

Adding to Bayern`s challenges, there were reports about Thomas Muller`s potential departure at the end of the season. However, Kompany emphasized the team`s immediate focus. “Our priority is the Inter match, and any news regarding Thomas must be respected. His legendary career deserves admiration, but my current role is to prepare the team for our upcoming game.”

Inter coach Simone Inzaghi also addressed player fitness concerns in his pre-match press conference, particularly regarding Hakan Calhanoglu and Federico Dimarco. “Bastoni and Calhanoglu have trained with the team and are being assessed.
