World number seven Casper Ruud shared his thoughts on his current level of play. He is set to compete against Jannik Sinner today in the quarter-finals of the Rome Masters.
“Three weeks ago, before the Madrid tournament, I would have told you that I haven`t played the best tennis of my career yet. I will tell you the same thing now,” Ruud stated. “Yes, Madrid was an amazing tournament, and I won, but I still believe I am capable of achieving even more.”
He added, “Of course, it`s great that I`ve started winning on clay again. After last year`s Roland Garros, I went through a difficult period with not many victories. This is a very important part of the season, and I hope to finish these last few days in Rome strongly, and then perform well in the remaining weeks on clay before the transition to grass,” Ruud commented in an interview with Tennis Channel.
