Spanish tennis sensation and four-time Grand Slam champion, Carlos Alcaraz, has credited a specific phrase from his coach, Samuel Lopez, as being instrumental in his triumph at the Monte Carlo Masters.
“This is the first clay tournament of the season. I knew it would be very challenging, and that it was crucial for me to maintain a positive mindset. This is probably the phrase my coach, Samuel, repeated most often this week: stay strong and positive. I believe this became the key to such a fantastic week. You have to face the difficulties that arise, confront them, and not avoid them. I think this really influenced me because in matches, you must face challenges, not worry or be afraid of them. When you acknowledge them, accept them, and face them head-on, things tend to go your way. I think it was a great week because we overcame all the positive moments,” Alcaraz shared at a press conference.
