British No. 1 Cameron Norrie has advanced to the fourth round at Wimbledon and shared his insights on his strategy, particularly focusing on how he leverages the support of the home crowd.

Norrie secured his place in the last 16 of the tournament by defeating Italy`s Mattia Bellucci in the third round. The match concluded with Norrie winning in straight sets: 7/6(5), 6/4, 6/3.

Following his victory, Norrie commented on the significant role the spectators played in his performance.

“It`s vital to make the audience a distinct advantage,” Norrie stated. “I was genuinely drawing energy from everyone in the stands. You could clearly see how much they were enjoying the tennis.”

“It was Friday evening,” he noted, “and it was pretty obvious that quite a few people had been celebrating a bit, which was noticeable! They were giving me tremendous support, and that feels really good.”

He elaborated on his interaction with the fans: “I actively tried to give them reasons to cheer for me, and I think they sensed that connection. The crowd absolutely contributed to my win. I was consciously attempting to absorb their energy – it`s something I`ve observed Andy Murray do so effectively in his own matches.”
