Bayern Munich is set to host Inter Milan this Tuesday for the first leg of their UEFA Champions League quarterfinal tie. Despite their dominance in the Bundesliga, Bayern, under manager Vincent Kompany, are currently dealing with a significant number of injuries. The latest setback is Jamal Musiala, who sustained a muscular injury in Friday`s match against Augsburg and will be unavailable for both legs of the quarterfinal.
Musiala joins a list of absentees including Alphonso Davies, Dayot Upamecano, and Manuel Neuer. When questioned about the team`s condition, coach Vincent Kompany acknowledged the challenges. “We are in a tough spot,” he stated, “but this is the Champions League, and we must focus forward. Inter manager Simone Inzaghi also addressed player availability in his pre-match press conference, specifically regarding Hakan Calhanoglu and Federico Dimarco. “Bastoni and Calhanoglu trained with the team, and we will assess them further. Dimarco trained separately. Lautaro Martinez was planned to play only the first half against Parma but ended up playing 70 minutes. He is fit and expected to play against Bayern.”
