World No. 192 August Holmgren commented on his impressive performance at Wimbledon. The 27-year-old Dane successfully navigated the qualifying rounds for the first time at a Grand Slam and then went on to defeat Quentin Halys and Tomas Machac in the main draw, securing his spot in the third round.
“I was pleasantly surprised to have qualified,” said Holmgren. “I`m very pleased that [in the match against Halys] my level didn`t drop in any of the three sets – that`s rare for a five-set format.”
“On the one hand, I`m not surprised because I strongly believe in my serve and my game,” he added. “On the other hand, I`m very happy, thrilled to be able to say: `Damn, I`m here!`”, quotes the official ATP website.
